Alan Stone is a shareholder and trial practice group leader of the firm of Skelton, Taintor & Abbott in Auburn, Maine. He is an experienced trial lawyer, representing individuals in Maine’s state and federal courts and before administrative agencies in the areas personal injury and medical malpractice.

Alan has brought to bear his extensive trial practice background, skills and technique to represent personal injury clients in medical malpractice, automobile accident, fire loss, electric utility accidents and wrongful death lawsuits.  He is skilled at negotiating and facilitating outcomes outside of the courtroom through alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration.

He believes it is important to care about clients, pay close attention to their needs and to represent them with honesty and integrity that merits respect from his peers and the judiciary. He also employs state-of-the-art technology in courtroom presentations.

In recognition of his legal acumen and his ethics, Alan was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Maine Superior Court to serve as the Chair of Maine Medical Malpractice Review Panels.  He has served as a governor in the Maine State Bar Association, as a panel chair of the Maine Grievance Commission and as president of the Androscoggin County Bar Association.

An active member of his community, Alan has chaired the school board and served as the town moderator for the Town of Raymond.

A New York City native, Alan earned his B.S., magna cum laude, from Boston University. He went on to obtain his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Evidence.
