Marc Frenette is a shareholder of the firm of Skelton, Taintor & Abbott in Auburn, Maine, representing individuals in personal injury matters. He is admitted to practice before all of Maine’s state and federal courts as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the U.S. Tax Court.

Marc has been selected to the 2011 New England Rising Stars list, featuring young lawyers in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Marc is a member of the Maine State Bar Association, Androscoggin County Bar Association, American Bar Association and American Association for Justice (formerly known as the American Trial Lawyers Association).  He is a member of AAJ’s Professional Negligence Group and Child Sex Abuse Litigation Group.

Marc handles complex personal injury cases, many with difficult liability.  He has handled many automobile accident, motorcycle accident, and premises liability cases, including wrongful death matters.  Marc works with clients and forwarding attorneys as a team to put clients’ interest first.  Marc also has significant expertise in insurance matters and coverages, which often brings significant value to a case.

Prior to entering private practice, Marc served as a law clerk for Maine Supreme Judicial Court Justice Robert Clifford, helping to perform legal research and draft opinions. The experience gave him invaluable insight to the judicial decision-making process.

Marc is active in the community, including his service on the supervisory committee of the Central Maine Credit Union. He also coaches and directs the Lewiston Auburn Youth Hockey League and serves as the assistant varsity ice hockey coach at Lewiston High School under Head Coach (and Skelton, Taintor & Abbott director) Jamie Belleau.

Born in Lewiston, Maine, Marc earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Duke University. He graduated from the University of Maine School of Law, summa cum laude. During law school, he served as the research editor of the Maine Law Review and as a legal writing instructor.
